Social culture in PR

According to Bochner and Hesketh in 1994, Power Distance, one of the four cultural dimensions in work-related values from Hofstede's seminal 1980 research, is one of the most important cultural dimensions. Malaysia has the largest power distance in the world, according to Sweetmen in the Harward Business Review, with a power distance index of 104. According to some, the cause of the great power disparity may be traced to the legacy of the Malay feudal system and the British colonial influence, which fostered respect for this kind of intricate and nuanced system of the upper class and the commoners inside the Malay culture. As a result, the focus of this essay will be on the features of this culture at work in Malaysia.

The effects of LGBT movement groups on the legalization of human rights in American government policies

This paper seeks to examine the progress made by the LGBT community in securing legal recognition of its members' human rights in the United States of America. The analysis was based on the suppositions that government policies have severely curtailed the legal rights of the LGBT community and that LGBT movement organisations have been successful in securing those rights for the community. This study will be carried out using qualitative research, and the data collected will be thematically examined.

During my period of internship, my tasks were mainly article writing, Instagram post writing, and video script writing. Unfortunately, the website that was used for the publication had been taken down as a result of a lack of financial upkeep, therefore only screenshots and pre-publication google docs documents and the final report on my internship.

UTAR phantom Knowledge is an event assignment aimed to promote the departments and services available in UTAR. with the library as our choice of department, we aim to bring awareness to the UTAR library, as well as its digital counterpart, the UTAR E-library because of its low user usage. Instagram and Facebook were used during this event, not only because of their popularity among younger users, but also their compatibility with video and image media, not to mention the use of stories in Instagram that we utilized to further enhance our user event experience.

While only assistant secretary in name, I was not only tasked with help of finding information regarding the university library but also some of the video making, Instagram stories and not to mention the captions used for this event, as seen from the media below. In this event, the video editing software used was Filmora.

"Best Project Award"

From left: Wee, Teoh, Sie, Tan, Leong, and Loh giving their thumbs up after the presentation on the Chicken Coop Project

The group included Dr. Tan Gim Cheong, a professor in the Faculty of Science (FSc), as well as students from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, the Centre for Foundation Studies (Kampar Campus), the Faculty of Business and Finance (Joshua Tan Kwan Ming and Mary Ling Leun Kwong from the Business Administration programme, Zoe Wee Xin Jie from the Biotechnology programme, and Sie Shwu Yuen from Psychology.

With the aim of helping a family of orang Asli located in a village not far from Kampar, Perak, this project was mainly to provide chicks and animal feeds to the underprivileged families initiated by the Perak Elevate Life Society (PELS) and received the support from several UTAR students who were volunteering for PELS.

During the project's duration, I was tasked with the contents of the flyers, posters and event and was part of the editing team for the project's video. While there are not many examples that were saved from that time of the event, the content in the yellow poster as seen in the first picture were filled in by hand as a result of lack of resources and time during that period.
